About me
Hi, Thanks for visiting my site!
I (he/him) hold an MSc in Water Resource Engineering and a BA in Environmental Engineering, and I have a wide range of interests.
Here are some books that I enjoyed:
-
Rules for a Knight by Ethan Hawke:
This is one of my favorites. It's a fiction book set in the 1400s, offering lessons to follow for a fulfilling and well-lived life. The story is a fable about a father, away at battle, who writes letters to his children, sharing rules to live by in order to be a great knight or lady.
-
The ONE Thing by Gary Keller and Jay Papasan:
The ONE Thing teaches the importance of focusing on a single task at a time to achieve your goals. The book references a Russian proverb: "If you chase two rabbits, you will not catch either one." You can summarize the entire book into the latter.
-
Kon-Tiki by Thor Heyerdahl:
Kon-Tiki, writen by its expedition leader, is about a biologist who suspected that the South Sea Islands were settled by pre-Inca Peruvian civilizations.
To prove his theory, he recruited a team, flew to Peru, built a raft from Peruvian wood, and traveled across the sea for 101 days with limited resources to the Polynesian islands.
It was later found with DNA evidence that his theory was incorrect.
-
Social: Why Our Brains Are Wired to Connect by Matthew Lieberman:
Interesting book on social cognitive neuroscience· It looks at how the human brain has evolved to be 'social' by exploring and answering different questions.
